Traveling Warrior

Welcome to Traveling Warrior – A Journey of Grit, Growth, and the Open Road

I’m MJ, a former Infantrymen in the U.S. Army who spent years in uniform serving my country. The military shaped me—taught me discipline, brotherhood, and how to push through when everything inside says stop. But life after the uniform brought its own battles: deep pain, hard struggles, moments where I questioned who I even was anymore.

Through it all, I’ve been a traveler at heart. From dusty roads in far-off places to quiet corners of the world that few people see, travel became my way of processing, healing, and rediscovering purpose. The road has shown me beauty in broken things, strength in vulnerability, and the simple truth that movement—literal and emotional—keeps the spirit alive.

This blog is where I share the real stuff: the lessons carved out of hardship, the small (and big) wins along the way, stories from the places I’ve been, and the ongoing work of becoming a better man than I was yesterday. I’ve accomplished more than I ever thought possible—some of it in uniform, a lot of it after—but I’m nowhere near done. There’s still so much ground to cover, so many horizons to chase, and so much growth left to chase.

Whether you’re here because you’re a veteran walking a similar path, someone who’s faced your own storms, or just love tales from the road, stick around. We’ll talk honesty, resilience, adventure, and the quiet victories that don’t always make headlines.

Thanks for joining me on this ride. Let’s keep moving forward—together.
